Well he/she doesn't look to bet getting thin since you can still see the pale underside of the belly.

But, if you begin to see a sunken in appearance, then you'll know it's not eating.

Even if you see that, don't be worried, just give it time. dbcb314 wrote a good article to help people in situations like this if your polypterus wont eat

My guess is that yours is just on a hunger strike.
 
i didnt feed him last night....and no fish are missing and today he looks massive lol. like an inch and a half thick. i may be selling or trading him soon...i wanna trade him for some rarer earth eaters or something like that. what would a 8-10" ornate go for?
