Jawman- koliba is the former name for the Corubal river. U already knew that of course. But what the heck is Koloton ? It's not a river name. Can u kindly educate us?

In all honesty this could end up a round robin like the guinea endli discussion... possibley all the same fish since the water ways more than likely comnect at some point.

All of the common descriptions like koloton have more destinct markings and less green than koliba may be true. Read that koloton have more defined markings near the tail and more of an elongated head...could be true as well.

DMD123 DMD123 1st koliba more resembles my koloton where his newer kokiba matches the common traits others used to describe them. Maybe mistakenly labelled as koliba and was infact a koloton ? I remember his 1st koliba very well because it was a stunner man. And thought the head shaped did look different than his current kokiba. D feel free to post pics of both.

Or

These are the same fish. Hao Hao both are collected in guinea right ? Maybe just labelled differently because of the color difference, and differences in head shape are nothing more than genetics.

The fun but frustrating thing about this is most all we have to go on is opinions from other hobbyists...we then play detective plugging in the peices lmao.

Im pretty sure toyin has reffered to them as kolouton or kouloton (cant remember) in the past maybe the u fell off at some point. But is an indication of a catch location hao described

If i remember dmd's 1st koliba correctly i think king el's description fits when comparing it to his new one. But still we would need like 10 of each fish on the same substrate with the same lighting and roughly the same size to really be able to compare

Its time to get these two out. The kokoton keeps trying to bury itself but has a great appetite. Congi hasnt even had the chance to eat.

Hao Hao
Cant tell you enough how pleased i am with this congi i really do regret not taking both. The pics/vids dont donit justice. The brown ang golds are so rich on her. Plus she doesnt stay still long enough latley.

So far no major changes with the new sand. The bv and congi #1 bands are a little more visible and congi #1 base color is a bit darker, faranah endli base color goes from tan to grey. The ornate though definitly looks more vibrant. Its weird because no matter what i do they look slightly off when taking vids/pics from what they do in reality. Especially the koloton.

I definitly like the look of the new sand better than what i was using but im think Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 barton sand will look better i like how it has some black/dark grains mixed in
