I did the same with my first few bichirs I owned it works well but as doc said beef heart is not to be used long term!
What I always do with small fish like that is make beefheart a good part of the diet until they are a chunky 5"-6". Then take them off beefheart because it's not healthy as a long-term staple. With the beefheart I'd feed blood worms, brine shrimp, tilapia, pellets, etc.., the main part for me is just feed a good chunk of beefheart as IME beefheart really helps chunk a fish up and give it a couple inches of length when young.

I'm far worse......u no when u think pier pressure u imagine a guy wit a cig bein like here just smoke it come on smoke it .... Well that's me except wit a bichir in my hand pokin u in the face with it like (poke) buy it.... (Poke) just buy it....(poke) u no u wanna ...(poke)
Lol your as bad an influence as dmd lmao

I wish my water qas that good !

Well that i can tell you wont happen 1000 bucks on a fish..wife would give birth just hearing it

I use to feed tilapia and hikari sinking gold daily until their belly is busting. It's hard to kick that habit when u get motivated with the fast growth. It's kind of addicting really and a bad habit. Now that most of mine are on the larger side. It's every other day.

I was actually thinking about going every other day for the bigger fish in the 150. Im not too concerned with growing the pearsei, het, moke, del, and ornate quickly. Rather just their long term health.....the little guys im gonna stuff.

Noticed that the ornate is growing pretty fast. He was much smaller than the del when i first got him but is almost the same size now

Had to show.....so ugly its cute
