I meant the smaller one, the Florida gar. Can they live in a 180 for life? (I want one!)
Even if it stays under 24 inches they arent as flexible as polys...tho i never had one because of this exact reason but i do want one too...badly

I hear ya hommie.... ugh all the cool fish are the hardest to keepWhy can't they breed them like dogs and give me a mini florida gar and a mini fire eel???
I certainly can't commit to a 300+ tank. Dammit.
There are SB Florida gars out there if you've got money to spend ur most are in Asia. They are bred like dogs lol.
No mini Fire eel yetmagpie .
You're right.Long nose are usually found in public aquariums and im pretty sure they are a favirote of sport fisherman could be wrong tho
i was telling him about what he has so longnose. Floridas don't usually grow over 2' takes then time to get there ime. As pointed out they aren't flexible. So I'd recommend atleast 30" width for one. Especially since they can be a little skittish to loud noises and ram the walls which you wanna really avoid with hard can they can break their back pretty easily, though I've never had this happen to me.Do you mean the longnose or the Florida?
If you meant the longnose, how big of a tank do you need for a florida gar to be happy for life?
Maybe ill just grow the longnose gar then rehome them once they hit 20" to a public aquarium, ill just keep the florida gars. You're right.
