Well saturay i noticed one of my fish had ich. So i went and for copper and a test. I did a 25% water change of my 180 gallon tank and then added the copper. I already have aquarium salt in the tank but i added extra. Then yesterday i did the second dose of copper. I was told it would get worst befor it got better and that i wouldnt see any results.until the day after the second dose. So that will be this evening and all i can do is hope it wotks. I had 15 fish and now I'm down to 8. This is so sad to me. What can i do in the future to prevent this? I don't have a quatantine tank

I would use the heat and salt treatment. I would hate to dose meds when not needed.

I agree with heat and salt. I have never saved a fish with copper. Salt is all have used for many years. The only time I will dose meds now is if I have a small quarantine tank set up for it.

Thanks. Will fish live in86 degrees? I have datnoids, girafge catfish, and severums. I just did the copper bc that's what i was told to use and i don't have personal experience with it so that's pretty much why i did it. Thanks agaon

Thanks. I have two power heads in the tank on too if the filtration so i would think that would be good. I will do that when i get home from work. I really appreciate the help

Raise heat, add salt, add an airstone and ich will be gone. Never used medication on ich before - if at all possible try not to throw meds into your tank.
