my poor male jag :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
he eneded up not making it. his only tankmates were a female freddy and a common pleco. i had him with the freddy for only 2 weeks in the 150. no recent water change was going to do it today or tomorrow. i think it ended up being an internal parasite that just took its course. from what i am told sometimes with internal parasites you cant tell the fish is sick till its to late. i plan on getting him mounted since it was my first monster fish (def not my last) that got me into the hobby of fish. i have in the freezer at the moment im going to call a taxidermist tomorrow and see what they say. im in the works of getting some cichlasoma "ornatus". i do have a red terror (female) in my 75 i think im going to put in the 150 with the ornatus when i get them. my plan is to put the freddy is in the 75 by her self till i figure out if im going to get another male jag or male freddy. id like to keep her with the red terror and the ornatus in the 150 i just think its not enough space for all of them. plus i think the ornatus im getting are going to be smaller then the freddy and i dont want them to die.

i know people might give me crap for having him mounted but i dont care he was a cool looking fish and was around 12+inchs. people that saw him today at the fish store couldnt believe at how big he was. i just wish they would have gotten to seen him in his glory days!!!

That's unfortunate. Have it mounted if you want to. It's your fish. Don't worry about being flamed about that. I hope you'll get another monster to grow out.

cool to mount him! first fish man hell yeah

Who cares what people say?

There used to be a store outside of Detroit that had a big pbass they had raised mounted. I thought it was cool.

Sorry your jag didn't make it. If you want to replace him I'm not far from you. you can come to Bolingbrook and pick out a couple to grow out you can have them for free
