ok.... for those of you wanting to know if oscars and ropefish are good tankmates for eachother.... dont do it. i just walked in my room to go to sleep and noticed my ropefishes jaw ripped half way off. i thought he was dead considering his eyes are white but then he swam across the tank and then dropped to the bottom like a rock. he is still alive and im going to leave him in the tank to see if he will make it but i highly doubt it. :cry::cry::cry:
 
yup. i really like the oscars but i like my gars and polys better and i cant have the oscars killing their tankmates.
 
oscars can be quite nasty little fish. I have lost several fish to my tiger oscar. They just pick at them till theres nothing left. Can you move him to a hospital tank?? I have had great luck with fish near death buy just putting them into a tank buy themselves and adding meds for fighting secondary infection, just giving them time to heal up.

well i think we are getting rid of the oscars. cuz i only had the rope for a week. im not sure if he is dead or not at the moment but im going to nudge him and see if he moves in a bit. and if he is i will set a spare 10g.
