When I was younger we had potatoes that sprouted all the time. Now it's not so common for me. Crap vegetables now compared to before I think.

Our red and russet potatoes sprout all the time, but we buy them in the larger bulk bags so they sit for a long while. Never had a sweet potato sprout, but we don't buy large amounts in bulk so they get eaten sooner.

yes I have had sweet potatoes sprout. Im not a fan of them but yes i have. My grandfather grew a bunch this year off the standard (read not an "organic") sweet potato from the store. They sprout.

Read the thread and you will know why it is BS. They sprout. It slows sprouting but it does not STOP it. I know what budnip is.
