A lot has changed recently.
The exceptionally hard water here has already destroyed my RO membrane. So.....I decided to upgrade the entire RO system. The unit output has been doubled to 50 gallons per day, has all new internals, a flush valve, dual TDS meters to stay on top of upkeep, and a top off valve makes this setup one step closer to fully automated.
The plants in the tank are now consuming nitrate/phosphate faster than the livestock can produce it. Ferts are in the mail.
I'm also upgrading the crappy Current fixtures with a 60" Sunlight TEK 4 bulb T5 setup. I need more light!
Additionally, the tank stock has been changeddue to a big order from Rapps. Kudos to Jeff for quick service and absolutely awesome fish. Currently:
(3) x Krobia Guinanesis
(3) x Rotkeils
(3) x Unknown Severums
(4) x RBSA
(6) x GBRs (4 WC from Rapps)
(5) x Thin Bar Myleus
(1) x Leopard Frog Pleco
(2) x common BN
You'll notice all tetras are gone from my stock list; the krobia tell me they were exquisite. They managed to wipe out all three schools in 3 days.
I still have the male festae...still a cool fish, but still a real *******. He will be getting his own tank, possibly with a big cat that he can't bully. I considering a 125 just for him...as he is now over a foot and still growing.
I'd still like to get some bigger fish in the 180...but right now I'm enjoying beautiful plants and mostly peaceful and harmonious fish.
Pictures to come very soon!
