My puffer problem

I just got my first mbu puffer yesterday and it was pooping and the feces looks strange is it a parasite and if so how do I treat it

To me it just looks like a mucus membrane from stress. I’d keep an eye on it

I would treat for parasites. Looks like the same condition that I've seen with my own fish (and other folk's fish) who had a parasitic problem. I would try API general cure in the tank, with freeze dried krill soaked in it. If you wait too long to treat, then it won't eat any medication.

Unless it's captive bred you should treat all puffers. Really even if captive bred you should at least watch it.

Puffers are very susceptible to internal parasites, it’s one of the leading causes of death. I’d honestly even treat a captive one.
