My jags are half the size of yours and already breeding, male being under 4 1/2" and female less than 4". I bought them 3 months ago even smaller and they've doubled in sized and just recently laid eggs and guarding them. I expect them to hatch in a few days or so.
The male was aggressive to the female so much so I trapped the male in the large net for an hour or so then after letting it back out and a day later I noticed eggs.
The male would leave the tinfoils alone before they mated but the female would attack them more but hte male beat up on the female a lot prior to this.
