It was a big challenge for me to catch the details of all fish beauty –
the golden dust on the edge of the scales, the red lipsticks line bellow on the tummy,
the changing “rainbows” shining of the body…,and that ****’n eye, of course…>)
Hey Hristo, straight to the points. That's exactly how I feel about the werneri. And, I think you've done a great job on it.

Thanks, Pals!
CDM, you said:” I infact took 70~80 shots to get that werneri photo… with finnages extended!”
May be I did more, but not any one get so good to be sharing here…
You’re a lucky one!

Now, after Ir. Werneri, it was the harder part for me to take a good shot of my M. Praecox
They are the fastest, the light-reflecting and the little ones, than others!
Sorry that photos are not still perfect, but that are my best attempts for now…:-(
Will be glad to see any good pictures of yours of these fishes and comment how to shoot them right…

hey Hristo, I have not followed the thread, sorry, got busy. Nice stuff. The first Werneri shot is excellent, same with the Troika :) Shot. Great looking stock you have too. Those fish are top notch.

Great stuff. I've only shot a few rainbowfishes in the LFS and these shots shows how magnificent these fish can look in the right environment.

How to get it right? I think yours are already right! The exposure is accurate. Nice works.

Hristo, you got it to a science, man, seriously this new Praecox series is dead on, I can't say a bad thing about it. :) What are you doing, please describe your setup, I am sure some would love to see. You know what would work, getting a shot of you taking these, by someone else. Just an outsider view of the setup in action. Very nice work, man.

Nice work Hristo. I have never been interested in rainbows but your pictures of them are getting me intererested.

Thank you for the encourage words, Pals!
But as much as I take a look to these Praecoxs photos…and next to the fishes…
I see that they’re not enough perfect… ;) Actually, the fishes are more colorful, more shining…!
I told you about that my problem once in the thread of Giant Danyo, but nobody answer me…:-(
So, I’ll ask you again:
That are my usual setup: WB is on Auto . I’m shooting in AV-mode; the Exposure time is the max. – 1/200 sec., ISO 100 – 200;
and two external flashes above the tank (or the one of them is on tripod straight the tank).
When I’m closing the Aperture value to get a deep focus (what decreasing the surplus fishes shining also)
since F: 10 to F: 20, the color begins to desaturated …
What do you think - where I’m going wrong!?

Hey friend, you are really trying to get perfection.:-/ :-o

The less light the more color saturation...but poorer exposure. Right?

The balance may be lower f/stop...f/22 and more flash power. Just guessing.
