My Rare Bichir Collection with Photos

Hello,

I was offered an Albino Polypterus lapradei from a reputable supplier, and was sent the same exact photo's that you have. They said the specimen was 20-25cm. Just when I was ready to close the deal to buy this piece they said someone already purchased it. This was from a supplier in Asia, and it was around a month and a half ago. I hope that either this specimen is already with you, or you haven't sent the money for this specimen yet if it isn't with you. because this piece is definitely not in Africa. Anyways good luck with this specimen if you did manage to get it and please post some updates.

BTW, IMO both Tokyogasmask and King-El are correct in a way about the Chad/Nigerian PBB's. If you look at it both of your points kind of compliment each other, just a slight variation on the interpretation of how they got there. Same issue happened with confusion over Chad/Nigerian endli's not too long ago as well.

Well it's definitely not a platinum as platinums are man-made selectively bred fish. The one on the first page appears to be a xanthic. Like I said in the other thread, I believe yours are just stressed out. If they were platinum (even though they aren't since they appear WC) they wouldn't have visible stripes, they aren't xanthic, because a xanthic Bichir has noticeable yellow.

platinums exist in the wild
