It's not a monster tank but here it is. I keep it in my office.

I'm growing out some filament barbs and G. Australis. They've spawned a few times but the male keeps eating the eggs. I think I'll separate them after they do the deed.

Last time I posted them, someone was saying they're the most common. I haven't seen anyone else post pics of theirs. If anyone else owns Australis, please post them on this thread if you don't mind, thanx! :)

I have never seen the G. Australis anywhere. They are beautiful fish and look like you are taking excellent care of them. Where did you find them?

It's the first and only time I've seen them too. My lfs ordered them from a vendor they don't normally use and say they can't get any more. After I got them, I read that males like to have a harem of females. But just these two seem to do fine...except that he's able to overpower the momma and eats the eggs and/or the fry. That's got to stop.

You definitely kept this tank a secret. I didn't know about this one. The stock is very nice. It looks like a calm office tank. Thanks for showing us such beautiful fish!

Lol....I know I've posted them before, I'm sure of it. It was a while back. This is my calmest tank but these two are interesting nonetheless. I like watching them as much as any of my fish.

Want to hear something funny. One time I almost started a thread titled "What's so great about peaceful cichlids?" because they're so popular. I was only into big bruiser CA type fish at one time believe it not. Instead I bought a couple to find out for myself and now I know firsthand.

Well, maybe I did see the tank before. I know what you mean though. I was sold on large aggressive cichlids for years. I always thought the smaller, less aggressive ones would be boring. But I have changed that thought since getting my pair of Multispinosa. They have a semi-planted 75 with a nice school of mollies. No mass murders, no fighting, and no shredded plants! It is more enjoyable than my larger tank most of the time. I still love the bruisers (looking forward to Jag fry from VRWC and possibly Festae growouts again from another friend) but there are definitely plans for another calm tank of cichlids. I think I have found a happy medium with the stocks in my various tanks.

that male is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! definitely a neat little tank, do you have a heater on it or just have it cool for the gymnos?
