He was fine last night, eating and acting normal, then this morning he was dead...:(

The only thing weird that happened was Wednesday, after 4 years of living together, I caught the pleco sucking on the ray, so I put the pleco into my 125.

He was a small ray, stunted from the day I bought him. I was told he was over a year old, but the pet store had him in a 20 gallon long. He grew out a little in my 75, then was moved into my 180. He was a great fish, always "happy" and swimming up the glass to greet me when I went into the fishroom. I'm really going to miss him.

The wound in the last picture is from the Pleco. It's hard for me to believe that little wound killed my ray, but that's all that was wrong. The Pleco has always shared a tank with the ray (4 years, at least), and I moved the Pleco was soon I as say the mark on the ray's disk.

i meant horrible for his loss. but from what ive heard pleco and ray bad idea..

The pleco was a Royal, they are suppose to be one of the "ray safe" plecos. I've had it in the tank for years with the ray, no problems until Wednesday.

It's wierd because there was no disk curl, anything, nothing to suggest the ray wasn't "right".

Here is a picture of the ray in my 180 taken two weeks ago. It's fuzzy, but it's all I have that is recent.

Maybe the poor conditions it was kept in before you got it caused it's life span to be shortened?
