okay! now open up the canister and make sure the quarts sleeve is crystal clear and clean. If it is cloudy even after you clean it you need to buy a new one! the bulb is only good for 11 months!!! so if you think it was used for that length of time you must order a new bulb.

I've had a ray do this before. Turns out it was getting extremely stressed at night by my tatf. Silver Arowana are really aggressive compared to other types like an rtg Arowana. Just my opinion though as I've had Rays die from stress.
I will put a tank divider in and see if hit stops

uv bulbs effective life isnt long. they still light up but they dont work properly.
i still think its stress. either from water ( do smaller 20-25% changes ) or because there is a filtration issue (also do small water changes every couple of days ).
if its possible that a tankmate is stressing the ray then divide ( agression often happens at night when you cant see ) .

Could I divide during night and then take divider out during the day arowana doesn't seem to bother him during the day
