My ray will be in late next week!

I'm going crazy, the private fish shop by me is going to get my ray in later next week. My tank won't be cycled yet and it's going to drive me crazy. The store wanted to get the ray in and hold it to make sure it was eating and everything and said they'd hold it as long as I needed. It's a baby marble, not sure the exact size yet. They're also getting me an arrowana and gar.
 
I'm going to do a water change tomorrow on the 20 gallon. Should I throw the water in the 125 gallon that I take out of from the 20 gallon?
 
bb is bacteria,just take some of the filter media out(not all)of the filter of the 20 gallon and put it in the filter of the 125,but make sure you have an ammonia reading so the bacteria doent die it needs the ammonia to live,this will speed up your cycle(will not be instant but it helps)
 
I get what your saying I just don't see how I can take any of the media out? It's a sponge, and some other things. How do I take part of it out?
 
tuff with just a sponge,tanks a cup full of gravel(not as much bb but there is a good amount in the gravel too,put it in a media bag(net bag)and put it in your filter of the 125
 
I have a sump as well on the 125 gallon. Should I put the gravel in the sump or in the filter on the back, or both?
