My rays

Here are a few pics of my rays; small (3.25"-3.75") m/f hystrix pair, a larger (6") female hystrix, and 5" male marble motoro. The larger hystrix was on light sand in the qt tank so she is still really light in color. Just moved her last night into the main tank. The motoro is cb. My picture taking skills aren't good...

The hystrix are all from Aquascape. The marble is home-grown.

I don't have the adult marbles anymore.


I don't think the male hystrix has grown at all, he is in the first picture. The smaller female (second picture)has grown very little. I bought them in late December/early January. The larger hystrix I bought just over a month ago.

The 3M is nice. It really brought the patterns out in the hystrix, but has darkened the marble.

is the home grown marble one of your pups? My little guy was 3.5 and is close to 4.5" now this is from the first of December.... (4 months 1"), but the larger one i got 2 months ago has not grown at all. I am starting to see how slow they truly grow..

Yes, he is one of my pups. Funny thing is, he was born in July 2008. Not quite 5" diameter now, seems slow growing for 8+ months old.

That 3M sand looks awesome! Very natural. The rays look good on it.

Can we see a FTS? I'd like to see where hanging roots are coming from.
