spotfin, how often you do waterchanges? Do the plants help prolong your waterchanges.

I'm now thinking they are helping reduce the nitrate load in my tank. I went a week without changing any water and the nitrate level was around 20 ppm. After my typical water change and 5 days later, the level is now about 15 ppm (between 10-20 ppm).
Could be in part I don't have the large motoros anymore and am feeding less, but I think the plants are helping.
