Im starting to take some of the rocks out , going from a fish tank to a ray tank seems like an easy process, still thes hysterix only eat freash worms, like crazy, no silversides or shrimp yet!

I think its a good combi with the gars..
Looking sweet..

Switch to fine sand or tiles.. Work great for rays too..

your photo, is unreal!!!Thanks , seems to be working out ok, hysterix really chomp down some earthworms, nothing else yet,gars learned to eat pellets off the bottom, im looking for some sand, and other tank mates, got rid of my huge silver arow, now the gars are next, then either discus or payra, my ph does run low out of the tap ~6.4

i would stay away from sand, its a pain JMO a small gravel is best

U can try a tile base too..
It works wonders..
Decors up nicely..
And almost hassel free..
