Thank you for all the nice comments. I like the sand with the motoros but i may have to change when i put the p14s in. It's a 275cm 115cm 55cm glass tank.

Exactly what sand do you suggest we use then Frank ???
I use B.D aquarium sand and this also sticks to them. But like it has been said, they shake like a dog throwing water off and the sand is gone!
 
i use black estes sand it works good
 
nice rays Alex i am experimenting with substrates right now and found a gravel by Carib sea called peace river it is suppose to be between 1 to 2 mm 14'' female ray will not bury into it so far she was purchased in a tank with Estes sand and all rays seemed to bury in it. the point is you have a great setup with some awesome rays good luck with the female
 
im using rounded sand with diameter of .8 - 2 mm and it worked very well with my ray. although some was stuck on her disk every now and then, it was way less (almost nothing) than i see on other pics.
