Background Information: I got my Red Devils about 6 months ago, 4 from the same LFS and the last from Petland. The 4 Red Devils (3 from the same parents) all turned out to be beautiful fish. I bought one of the 3 earlier than the other two by about a month, and shes literally 3-4 inches bigger than the other two due to proper feeding and the proper nutrition. My biggest Red Devil was purchased through the same store for $100. I couldn't let him go, hes just such a great looking fish and I really like him so much I had to have him. The smallest fish I have is from Petland, I guess you can say I rescued him. He has weird lips and around his body is mostly white, very weird looking fish, but I really like him and I'm happy I got him. All my Red Devils have been together for 6 months and rarely show aggression towards eachother other than once in awhile theyll chase eachother around the tank for terrortorial reasons. I added many different fish to see if they would last with my Red Devils, but they are a tight knit group and will not accept anymore fish to their colony, they like it how they have it now, and I respect that. Take a look at my photos and all comments are welcome! Thank you! Any tips on making my tank better would be great, I know 55gallon is small but its all I can have right now and I won't give up my fish. I run an FX5 to keep the water crystal clear and clean so don't hate!

yeah kinda lost on this thread...like he said...very small tank with too many fish and a very large filter?

uhhhhmmmmm:screwy:

I know its a small tank, but its all I can have considering anything bigger could possibly go through the ceiling due to overweight, and downstairs is out of the question considering this is my room lol.... Im moving out in a year so hopefully the 55g will make due, anymore comments are welcome and appreciated :)

Distribute the weight. Get a tank with a larger footprint, but not as tall. Or just make a larger stand.
Nice rd/midas, I'd switch to a black background though.

I was pushing it getting a 55 gallon, I'm 21 and I'm in the Marine Corps, soon ill be moving all around the world, I don't want to get a tank to big that I will have to leave behind.... atleast in a 55g my parents can take care of it while I'm gone... anything bigger my parents would have a fit. Thanks for the comments guys - please lead towards comments about my fish though - already know my tank is too small.

yea forgot to tell you that they are nice looking...just a little crammed..understandable tho

not bad lookin, pretty nice, my question is how the hell do you keep all those fish from fighting? i havd one red devil in a tank way bigger and he abused the **** out of my other fish lol.. i mean i know fish have diff personalities but u just got lucky haha
