This is not practicing good fish keeping skill... if you want to be a fishkeeper... then you should do what is best for the fish your keeping.. take the oscar out or put a divider in between the two fish.. we love oscars here.. and if your holding it for a neighbor it is only temporary..maybe you don't care for it.. but that is not reason enough to let it die an unnatural death... due to you adding the RD
 
my attention is mostly on my discus tank and i told my neighbor before hand that i planned on adding the fish. its just an overnight thing as hes installing overflows and such

If it is such a short term over nighter why not give the oscar back to him in the same condition he asked you to take care of him...it is neighborly ... just add some dense decor to the tank to make some cover for oscar ... give it a fair shake...
 
i did that already. and the rd isnt doin to much to the oscar. just pushes it around with an ocasional nip to the tail. and my neighbor is fully aware of what might happen. it was his decision. he has no where else to put it.
