The filter is a big we dry with pumps pushing at a rate of about 4000 gph. Still needs 40% water change every 7-10 days because of heavy fish load to keep water parameters ideal. I keep a decicated mag drive pump hidden in the back of tank (behind fake plants) with attached hose (closed) running out of tank, so water changes are pretty easy-- just open hose and put it out window and plug in pump to get water out, and then pump in new water to fill up.
