What are you planning to buy? You could always just use this time to save up a lot of money to buy a really nice fish, like a blue dot jawfish.<br />

Yea im not really sure... i was kind of thinking maybe a purple firefish or a flame angel.
Blue spot jawfish are no easier than mandarins right?
My lfs sells blue spotted jawfish for 20$. They breed them at the lfs so thats why its so cheap.

$20!?!? What!!! We're are you located? I know I've seen you say that you've been thinking about goin to sf and I know they have a lot of awesome cheap stores up there so we must be somewhat close to each other. And no, blue dot jaws are easier then mandarins, the cheapest I've seen a blue dot jaw is $80

This particular lfs is actually down in the south bay. Its next door to a leather workshop that specializes in belts. Unfortunately i just went their last week and its under new ownership. But last i checked they are still there, who knows how much longer though. They have 2 breeding pairs of blue spotted jawfish and they always used to have babies in stock. Btw 20$ gets you a decent sized fry with a moderate-high mortality rate. Hence the price. Big enough that they are JUST developing their colors.

Jaw fish are actually quite easy to care for just as long as you don't mind direct feeding them
