Just fed the fishes. The peppermint shrimp came out to eat. The mandarin was found out of his cave, he was sifting through the sand and picking at a small puddle of detritus. <This is b4 feeding. I fed a mix of mysis and brine. The mysis seems to be his preferred choice although it was difficult to find mysis pieces that were small enough for his mouth. The gumdrop goby loves the brine, he is picky though. The clownfish ate whatever he could fit in his mouth. The cardinal devoured the big mysis pieces but got picky over the small ones. The shrimp were very funny, one of them pounced like a cat when a piece of food went by.

So feeding habits listed below:
Mandarin; he is very, very slow (senile, grandma with a cane walking across the street) eater and is an avid browser. He moves very slowly and hesitantly and likes to take his time eating. He ate a few bites of mysis and brine but spit out the bigger pieces. No luck yet with pellets.
Clown: piggy, piggy, piggy, eats until he nearly chokes to death, then throws the food up and proceeds to eat the throwup. Process is repeated about 3-4 times before he gives up.
Bangaii: picky, picky, picky, emphasis on picky, did i mention picky? likes to taste his food and tends to eat then spit it out in disgust. He likes it medium-rare.
Gumdrop: i have only seen him eat once. Like 1 bite, that was today. He does not have a sunken belly, its hard to tell cuz he is so small but at minimum the sunkenness is not as deep as the grand canyon.
Shrimp: not much to say other than the bigger 1 reminds me of a cat. Sonewhat piggish. Fiesty buggers. The smaller 1 is missing 2 legs but i realized this while he was being drip acclimated. Possibly injured during transit or @ lfs.

Im adding in the extra powerhead now. Maxi-jet 900. I have it built as a circulation pump. Rather than a powerhead. I turned it on ahalf hour ago but i positioned it too low and sand went flying everywhere. So i quickly turned it off. Gonna try again in a few minutes the sand is almost all clear now.

The maxijet is way too powerful. It blows everything across the tank. I have it facing the top of the water but it still pushes the sand everywhere. It even moves rocks. Can somebody help me figure out how to muffle it?
900gph is like 30x turnover plus 2 other powerheads. i need to halve that.

Nvrm i googled it and figured it out...
I moved the coral frags finally. But after moving them i found the zoas and the xenia totally closed on me. Corals definitely dont like being moved. The zoas didnt really care, only a few polyps closed on me but the xenia looks pissed! Anyways the hammer coral has 10x more motion to it now. But it does look kind of ugly with the powerhead right there out in the open. I will have to figure out how to disguise it later. Btw i didnt realize this nuisance green grassy macroalgae can just be picked up off the substrate and thrown away? Its just a top layer you pick up, roll into a cylinder, or whatever. Who knew it'd be so easy.

Well I ook out the powerhead. Even reduced to just 200gph it was so powerful the flow ripped off 2 of the hammer corals tentacles. Their was a whirlpool forming in the center. The fish were desperately fighting the current. And... yea
Why would you even put it in the tank...

Well i read on mfk you need something like 10x turnover for softies, 15x for lps, & 20x for sps. I assumed 10 more couldnt hurt who would've known. Go figures. Oh btw it turns out it was 1,000 gph.
