looks ither like an oscar or a midas/red devil

are you talking about the red oscar in the background?

It's some strain of somthing halfway between what a true flowerhorn is and what they breed to get there.

It's not a midas/RD because of the pink coloration along with the red eyes...

Definately not a red texas either, but could be close...red texas are part of the flowerhorn breeding project.

I think you got a flowerhorn...
not a flowerhorn. no pearls = no flower horn.

id say the usual RD/Midas nice one too

Whatever it is, it isn't a red texas.

Its definitely a flowerhorn, someone already named the exact variation, like golden trimac or something.

A red texas is a flowerhorn, but people just don't call it that very much.

And I don't know who said its not a flowerhorn unless it has pearls. I have seen plenty of pearl-less flowerhorns. Pearl flowerhorns (ZZ) are a specific type of flowerhorn that is very common. These golden trimac flowerhorns are pretty rare around here.

Keep us updated on its growth and such. I want to see what this grows into.

Think its a Flowerhorn and Midas/Red Devil crossbreed.

not all flower horns have the pearls

thanks ya all
i shall keep this thread updated with pics every time i see some change

Put some krill and Hikari BioGold, if you can afford it, into the diet. It'll brighten up and possibly bring out colors sooner if it is truely a flowerhorn variant.
