After few days of torture I finally went to the lfs and rescue the rhom I saw last weekend from its 0.5gallon jar. was told it's been in that tank for a while and luckly that it has no chimps at all, aside from few minor scratches he looks almost prefect. :nilly:

he is a solid 6.5" like Tango pointed out in my other thread, took some pics after I put him in my tank. the color seems to be much darker compare to when he was in lfs, maybe it's still stressed out.
originally I thought it could be a Guyana rhom but now it looks a little like black diamond in some of the pics.. please help ID it.

man, you gotta love the color of its eyes. :naughty:

sweeet, i see diamonds ! did you put him in the 180?

yea it does look like diamonds, especially if in the pics I took with flash on. hope it stables down tomorrow and I can have better look.

Both rhom are in my 55g now with a divider, I want to see how it turn out first. then decide which one goes into my 180g. if I put it in now I probably won't be able to see it for a while cuz there are too many hiding place in the 180 square.

OMG half a gallon? Makes me cringe, even.

yea, all their piranhas are in the same size tnaks, some caribes, rbps and ternz are about the same size of the rhom if not bigger. they also have few pirayas in there too. I doubt those will sale at their listed price. feeld bad for those piranahs.

Thanks. I know right, those evil eyes. I think they got my soul some how and that's why I couldn't get it out of my head and had to get it :naughty:

Aww man! I don't know the first thing about regional variations in Rhoms but he's a stunner. Can't wait to see him grow. I hope you've got some kind of dark substrate.

hmmm...maybe its time I "rescued" a rhom meself.... :naughty:
