My rescued pitbull puppy...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Beautiful dog! They are not anything the media and idiots often sensationalize. I've met a few owners and their pitbulls. Friendly dogs I must say.

Cute dog and great save, as with anything I've found that the breed isn't the problem-the owners are. There are still too many people who own pitbulls for the tough dog image and encourage aggression.

That is a beautiful puppy! I used to work at a kennel that assists the local "big dog rescue" in town.
We housed at least 30 pits because the facility they had was over crowded.
I don't own one, but there were a couple I wished I could take home with me.

Considering how much of a dog person you seem to be, you've probably already considered it,
But I'd be careful with her and aluminum cans, it'd be way too easy for her to slice her mouth up on the metal.
I'd also keep pressurized metal canisters out of her reach as she gets older.
No doubt the jaw strength of an adult pitty could puncture one of those, and at the very least scare the crap out of her, if not seriously hurt her.

 Such an awesome story! I almost literally broke down reading the OP! lol. She's gorgeous! Glad to hear she's working out, update us more often, will ya? :P

Very beautiful puppy!!! Our family just adopted a 3 month old pit/mix... This is our 3rd pit, by far the best dogs we have ever owned!! Congrats on the new family member!!!

Pitbulls are as cute as they come! I LOVE the "Blue" kind..

Best dog I ever played at the APL (animal protective place) was a white female pitbull like 2 years old... I will never forget that dog! I hope she got a good home

She has more than doubled in size in 2 months. Shes very playful and my 8 year old rat terrier absolutely hates her! You can't get ice from the fridge without giving her a piece. She know sit, stay, get in your house (the dog crate), go outside and roll over. Shes a great dog but eats alot. We buy a 16 lb bag for the terrier every 3 months or so, we are on our 3rd 30 lb bag for the pit. She likes to chew like any puppy but it seems she prefers metal ( the ac unit, dryer vent and a gutter drain) but most recently she got a 6 pack of bud light cans. At least shes nor a fighting drunk!

Thanks for all the great comments. There is something that changes in a person once they have a pit. You find yourself wanting to fight for their reputation. Its not just defending your opinion of which is better like which is the better auto maker (Chevy) or which is the better college team (tennessee) but you become an advocate for the breed. I take her everywhere so people can see the breed in person and can see the temperment of the breed without having the media exaggerations thrown in their faces.
To everyone who owns a pit and is doing right by the breed, thank you.
