My return .... Starting small

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you don't want to go the expense of a Python, get a water bed fill adaptor (if you want to drain the tank) and a drinking water safe hose to fill and of course the obligatory correct faucet so you can connect it.

I only use the hose to fill my tanks and do any siphoning of debris with vinyl hose and a 5G bucket. To drain my tanks I use a 20' sump pump drain hose directly outdoors with some PVC fittings to hang over the tank rim and various pieces of PVC pipe to set the depth to drain to with a sponge over the end to avoid sucking up fish and critters.

Thanks, that seems simple enough that even an old farmboy like me could do it. And I have lots of hoses.

But first of all "where did you find a waterbed anything" I thought they were obsolete. ?

Yep I need to change the faucet. Couldn't believe someone would put a basic bathroom faucet on a utility sink. My buckets don't even fit underneath.
Water disposal isn't an issue (other than winter). Tank water gets reused for my plants, flower beds and future greenhouse (half built). I've already got a barrel or three, put away for that. But those are projects of mine in themselves.

Yeah I hear you on waterbed anything but still see the adaptor available.

When you get around to replacing the faucet, look for one that has a high arc spout with removable aerator and if you're lucky, also a separate hose sprayer attachment. Comes in handy for filling buckets and the sprayer for cleaning media, sponges, etc. Usually the issue is the hole layout in the utility sink but you may get lucky.

Well with the snowstorm in the U.S. my fish order was cancelled. So no Banjo's yet.
Instead got some further work done, fixing the filters and getting the 4th tank fully running.
It's slowly coming along.
