probably averageing out total length of the fish X average growth of 1-2" a year.
 
Well its really an estimate. Its size is about 13" so about 1-2" a year. So I did 1" a year, then 2" a year. All the way up to 13" and I got 8. Or something like that. lol.

Those fish are so funny i have kept quite a few in my day and damn they are mean, looks to be no exception here seeing that he is all alone. Nice fish man! Just watch your fingers LOL.
 
just to update everyone this fish died a mysterious death a couple months ago--- out of frustration i switched to craibe/terns--- got sick of them after a month and needed to go back to a monster! i just recently purchased a 15" highback from george... the vinny in the pics was 12"- this new guy is unbelievable and as soon as he heals up(got him fri), ill post a couple pics for you...
 
thanks man--- the new one ate for me within 24 hours which is awesome for big rhoms... he was also chasing me last night- opening up real wide trying to bite through the glass! it was fun until he smacked the glass pretty hard with his lower jaw- scared the **** out of me so i stopped- lol
