He often hides when the camera comes out but he was willing to pose for a photo shoot last week.
A little history.2 years ago I answered a post on freecycle.org for a free pleco. The woman insisted on a phone conversation and wanted to deliver him to be sure I had the tank space I claimed to have, and wasn't going to take him straight to the petstore for credit..I felt bad cause it was a 40 mile plus trip for her each way. When I found out it was a royal pleco I was more than willing to drive to pick it up but no she insisted ,free delivery.

Now I live in the woods,11 miles from the nearest store or gas station. Its a log cabin at the top of a 300' driveway on a heavily wooded lot.I chop firewood for heat in the winter so my collection of axes hatchets and sledgehammers leans against the front porch. My 3 feral barn cats love me and leave me gifts on the front porch all the time so that day as usual there was a splattering of fresh and dried blood in the vicinity of the front door.Being that it was wintertime I usually don't cut my hair and grow a big woolly beard. I'm not huge but at 6' 300lbs I cant imagine she was comforted by the sight of me.

This kindly older woman showed up and without hesitation entered my home and viewed my tanks and even checked out the basement fishroom to be sure I knew what I was doing and could take care of him.Her desire for the well being of the fish was more important to her then any concern a reasonable person would have about the situation. She insisted on my word that I would not sell him.No problem I had been searching for one and would never let a fish this cool leave my possession. He was about 5" then only about 8-9" now.He eats driftwood like a buzzsaw, good thing i get it for free.He also loves zucchini cantaloupe shrimp and veggie wafers.
