Thanks! I love my royal. I have 4 fish in the tank with it but its my royals tank. Something odd about my pleco is that I have never seen it eat the algae wafers. I put them in the tank and always see my severums eating the wafer. It won't touch zucchini, cucumber, green leafy veggies, or fruits. I have had it for about 6 months maybe more and the only thing i know its eating is the Cyprus driftwood I have in the tank. It loves it. I pulled it out after about 2-3 months and could see the wear it had done. I haven't tried blanching the veggies but have never had to with any pleco I ever owned. i really want it to get more foods so it can grow a bit faster. I seriously feel bad cause it won't eat anything I give it other than the driftwood. Anyone have any suggestions on what else I can do to get it to eat more?
By the way, my JD is way bigger than my royal. At the last rescape about 2 weeks ago, the dempsey tried to take the cave that the royal wanted, and they were going at it inside the cave until my royal dropped from the top at the entrance, turned to face the dempsey, and stood its ground. My dempsey never entered that cave again. I have never seen a size difference like that in fish and the small one win. I know the Royal is sort of armored, but it was still very unique to see that showdown.
