gold motas, or either your camera is really making the fish look yellow. my red tiger motas are 2.5" and showing lots of red, and their base color is completely different.

I was using my flash and in that particular tank it tends to give most fish a gold/yellow look. And i have also seen mota's at smaller sizes show color. but everyfish grows and matures at its own pace. I'd like to believe that they are late bloomers
