So i passed by a rummage/yard sale today, and saw an aquarium sitting on the lawn. They wanted $5 for it, but i took a look at it and the All-Glass Aquarium tag said it was a 1994. The silicone along the inside was pretty bad, but I figured I was looking for things to do with all the silicone I had (other thread). I was talking to a young girl. I offered $2, she went in to talk to her mom, came out, said coyly "$4?" in the "IDK, my bff, Jill?" tone. I said $3, she said ok. It was kinda cute cause I knew her mom would tell her "Ask him for $4 but take $3"

So i got a HUGE ten gallon for $3. And it came with a screen lid. O well. It's no 55 or 300000 gallon. But maybe one of these days. :irked:

it was probubly used as a rep tank and thats the reason for the poor condition of the seals but thats a great tank to practice resealing on. Unlike larger rep only tanks...the glass is the same on all 10 gallons.

I would of spent the extra 7$ and got one brand new..........Then again i would of bought somthing of a different magnitude.Good luck with your tank

i think it was used to keep rats or mice. they probably had fun chewing away at the silicone. that would also explain why the tank was for sale and not being used.

btw i was actually going to buy a 10gal later today anyway from a pet shop for $8 because i was planning on having a plants only tank. speaking of which, i need to go ask some questions in the planted forums

:nilly:10g? Ah, ok. I am hardcore at buying tanks, but I don't even think I'd consider a beat up 10g for any reason or any amount of money. IMHO.

i now have 5 10 gal tanks. i like having multiple tanks because i am a fan of species tanks. and multiple anything-bigger-than-20's is out of my budget for now. (i am, however, starting my $15/hr 40+hr/wk job this coming monday!) yayyyyy
