My Rummage Sale Success Story

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the price i paid for my 10 gals were $1 (from a thrift shop, which got me back into aquaria), $6.88ea for 3 of them from a pet store that sold them for $9 but i talked to the manager guy and he got me the deal because of something i told him, and this tank for $3, which means i spent an average of under $5 per tank. all of that money couldn't even get me a 20long. :(

Alrighty, so, i went to another garage sale and got 3 tanks and a nice tv stand all for $17. two 10 gals, a 5.5? gal, 2 working HOB filters, 2 undergravel filters, a lot of tacky fake plants, a ton of natural colored gravel (ewww), 2 full AGA hoods with working light bulbs, a net, a gravel vac, and a gang valve. each tank was $5, so i bought those. then on my way out i saw the nice TV stand big enough to hold 3 10 gals, and it had a $5 sticker on it. all i had was $2 left so i asked and they accepted.
makes my original purchase of a plain 10gal for $3 seem quite a ripoff.
now i have 6 10 gals and a 5.5?. one tank has moonlight gouramis, another swordtails, another cherry shrimp, another plants only, another will have a sweet crowntail betta, and i am undecided on the last one. i really want a lamprologus ocellatus but idk if i'll find any around here.

I say practice with the silicone so when its time to build something massive you already know ur way around a bead of silicone. Hey a deals a deal and if u save a penny you made a penny. Good luck with the tank and the job.

O yeah- i'm gonna use the crappy 10 gal to practice my painting. gonna spray paint the back black and see how it turns out. using the can of cheap $0.96 walmart paint.
unless i have to use some special paint for glass, that is.

You're only gonna get paid 15 bucks an hour? 14 year old kids round my way get 10 an hour for working at fast food. But is cause in America there's like not enough money for 350 mil peo0le?

ehh
I only got 6.70 an hour for manual labor.(WTF)
IT WAS NOT ENOUGH.
So i keep mowing lawns. less hours MORE MONEY.but still manual labor. which is fine.

BUT i dont have any more room for tanks.

anyway, i just bought a brand new lookin tank with brand new filter and a bunch of decorations (though mostly tacky like castle, fake stump, those glass drops, etc) for $10. idk what size the tank is, but i know it's smaller than the 5.5 i bought. so it might be a 2.5? or a 3? or a 2? i have no idea.
