These are some really next level tanks. Bit of a masterclass for the rest of us. I really like that "shelf" design with the wood you do, very effective use of space.
Thanks for posting and keep the updates coming.
Thank you very much for the kind words! Really means a lot!

Stunning! No other words to describe your tanks.

Not sure if you have said already and I mist it, what lighting are you using on the riparium?

The cichla are beauties, really coming on nice.
Thank you sir! The lights are Aqua Illumination Prime HD Freshwater. Relatively inexpensive with full controls for easing adjustments. I like them!

Here’s some pics from exactly four years ago of one of my favorite setups. It was a 225 Riparium with a breeding pair of Crenicichla Cincta, a bonded pair of Astronotus Ocellatus ‘Bahia Red Tail’, a bonded pair of Heros Liberifer, a trio of juvenile Cichla Orinocensis, and a large male Hoplarchus Psittacus. I really miss this tank.

It literally popped up on my FB feed.

Here a few pics of some other older tanks.

I don’t run any of these anymore and I could’ve done a better job of saving a lot of my older pics. Just thought I’d post them.

Some more old pics. These are a couple wild discus setups I used to have. I’ll be getting some wild discus again someday.

First was a Rio negro Biotope.

Looks like you hav squeezed half the rainforest into the rio negro tank.
Looks great like always, I think it's probably my favourite of all the pics you've posted actually.

these are two separate sets of Crenicichla Tapajos 1. Miss having these big time. I loved their behavior and movements.

Thanks guys. This was one of my favorite setups. May try something similar again someday

Quick update on the 280. The larger 3 out of the 5 Crassipinnis are almost large enough to remove and place into the 600. I’m really liking this build after the sword plants were removed. My hope is that the Myersi continue to do well. They have been touchy for me in the past. This is my fourth attempt at this species. lunsforj lunsforj , any tips woth these is appreciated. I’ve had high mortality rates in the past. Thank you.

I honestly think getting a compatible pair is the real key. I don't have hardly any problems with mine. They have one smaller pike cichlid that they both fight with. It gives them a mutual enemy. Other than that, I think k you are the right track, especially with all the room you are providing them.
