My SA Cichlid Obsession

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Super nice keep up the good work

Thank you gentlemen. Really appreciate the remarks.

Impressive, very nice. My arc in the hobby was somewhat similar, started as a kid, though I was more SA than CA oriented, also some oddballs, then did Africans for years, then got into Cyphotilapia (and still have some kapampa), meanwhile, back to new worlds... keep getting tempted by carpintis these days, but.. so many geos and so little time, lol, and the arc has shifted in my case because my fishroom has been downsized to make room for a woodworking hobby. :)
Would love to see those geos and the fronts. I always wanted a big frontosa tank with an Mbu and some large sand sifters.

Very nice tanks and pictures. Your hobby is on another level.

Do you have any good pictures of the Ivanocara adoketa?

So glad your back and active Robin. You should be really proud of all your displays, they are absolutely brilliant.
I love s/a cichlids too. I'm for some reason drawn to cichlids that do well in groups. Lots of s/a cichlids live and do well in loose groups. It somehow looks very natural and I like to see the interaction between the fish.
Another huge plus if you like to keep fish from the same region is the vast amount of non cichlid tank mates available.
A lot of them are also more gentle and your scape.
A very enjoyable thread that I'm sure i will look at many times.
First class mate.

Awesome tanks and thread Robin!! I've been following your builds on FB for a couple years and they always impress!! One day maybe your wife will let you set up a display tank in the front room of your house and It'll be the best thing any of us here have ever seen. I picture an Amano inspired plantscape with a pack of c.Zebrina on the prowl.

I second every compliment previously made, that's some inspiring dedication on display.

Thank you. I will have to take some. They are shy when I come up to the tank to take a pic. It’s a large male with two smaller juveniles.
