have been growing out 5 of them for about 7-8months and for the last month they've been showing breeding interest. Went away for 2 days and came home to a pair finally. They have a area cleared and the female is in her breeding dress. The males colors have not changed but his tube has been down for a while, females tube has never been down. The male had no nuchal hump before I left either. Two days without food and it finally popped.

those are hot i like them so much better than the colored morph

hmm every time I look at them they're in the tera cotta pot guarding it but still no eggs. I have five 4" clown loaches with them that could be eating them, should I remove them? There is also 2-3 1" convicts in there that they never ate. Could they be eating the eggs or will the saggitaes hold their own?

Those are beautiful fish, that male is amazing. I would think they'd be able to handle the convicts, but the loaches might just be too fast for them.

thanks, I'm not sure if I want to spend a hour messing the tank all up catching the loaches yet. Might break up the pair if I mess too much stuff up but it needs to be done eventually anyways. Still debating..

I'm pretty sure they haven't bred yet. If they did you would notice big time because their color would change and they would charge anything the came close. Try a few water changes and wait to see what happens.
