My school project about fishtanks

In class i am doing a project about fish tanks. From the very begining to the most technological tanks now days.I dont know much about this and thought you guys might, so if you know anything could you help me out?

Just wondering, is this for an engineering class? I had the exact same project last year for IED where I had to show the evolution of a product

I think if you looked in some older aquarium books, you would find pictures and diagrams of older filter systems not in use anymore. Probably pics of equipment in and out of boxes. The age of the books could help you pin down a range of years maybe. Use a catalog for pics of more modern equipment.
