Sorry guys, didnt have time to finish it off, so here goes.
The day before we left for our trip back home we tested the eskies for leaks (none) and drilled a couple of holes in each lid to run an airline through. Then we packed em into the back of the ute.

Very early the next morning, I think it was 4 o'clock or some other ridiculous time, we got up and started draining the pond. We filled the eskies about half way with tank water then plopped in all the small fish. Then it was sallys turn.
She wasnt too happy having so little water, but it makes it 10 times easier to catch her

In the past when I've moved her out of tanks I've used towels and sheets to try and catch her and theyve worked well. But when I had to move her before the flood came I needed to be quick so I scooped her up with a plastic container.
I decided to do the same this time. Didnt want to muck around, so I jumped straight in the pond and scooped her up into a washing basket then dumped her into the esky.

Its amazing how calm she is whenever she gets moved, most other fish thrash about and jump out of buckets but RTCs seem to be quite happy as long as theyre in water.
Anyway, we hit the road, leaving my parents with the lovely job of cleaning up the mess I left hehe. And about 10 minutes into the drive we go around a sharp corner and water starts splashing out the side of Sallys esky!! Turns out they arent actually water tight after all! I was panicking for a while because we had no alternative but to keep going. So we did, and every corner more water gushed out.
After a while we pulled over to check the water level, if it was getting too low we were going to have to buy a few 20L jugs of water to add to it along the way. But luckily it was still pretty high.
We drove on and made it to the NSW town of Nerrandera, where we spent the night.
Next day we headed off down to Melbourne with water still splashing everywhere, other than that if was an easy trip and we all made it back safely.
The fish had lost a bit of colour though.

While unpacking the car, my in-laws stopped by to meet Sally. I had been telling them about her for weeks. And I dont think they realised just how big she was going to be because the looks on their faces were priceless haha. So now not only does my family think im insane, but my partners does too.
And I dont blame them, not many people have a swimming pool that fills up a whole room in their house, let alone have it just for a fish.
But hey, my fish deserve the very best lol.
