my senegalus jump of the tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thats weird.. I've had six bichirs and none of them ever jumped out. I never cover the back of my tanks(for air circulation). Guess I need to be more careful

need to take extra precaution, we'll never know when they have the urge to jump

Wow...I'm glad I read this thread! My 100 gallon has a very tight fitting glass/hood, but it's got a small hole in back plastic strip for the filter/heater cords......I'm gonna fab a filler piece when I get home!

I'd hate a repeat of the time Starrfish & I came home to her house after 3 days out of town.

"Hon...what's that 34" brown, cat hair covered lump on your carpet?"

"Oh...that's just my African Lung fish, Spike. I'll put him back in....he'll be fine."

Well....he 'lost' his fins & shed a lot...but 3 weeks later he WAS fine.

in my backyard, I have an electric catfish, 2 cats (not fish), and I have several in the freezer waiting for a proper goodbye when the ground isn't frozen including a 7" blood parrot (filter shut down), 4" african mudskipper large infected wound on tail), a 5" (was DEEP royal blue) blue crayfish (killed by my brothers africans, wich died a week later, after he set up the tank because he never feed them and thought adding an ENTIRE BOX of aquarium salt would keep the water from evaporating) and probably a couple i am forgeting

wow, that really blows, I think im gonna have to rethink the glass top of my tank, I coud probablly cut small pieces of foam and thread the heater and air cords thu, then tape it to the top of the tank, but I do have one over the back biowheal, thats gonna be real tricky to close off

mudskipper, it sounds like you should make damn sure your brother never trys to keep fish again, all those deaths, and adding salt to make water not evaporate, I mean did he even pass gradeschool, or better yet, is he in gradeschool, not trying to be too mean but come one, thats just stupid stupid stupid

NEED WEIGHT GLASS

one of my Palmas was gone yesterday,so look around tank, no palmas .
weard a noise from the filter, i have one kind of inside sump that glues in tank. saw a frog that escape ,try to grab and felt something weird ,a 25cm bichir inside a 10cm space full whit 2 waterpumps alive and active trying to escape from my hands  ,looks good now, sory for derail of your tread, sory for your lost. :(
