my shovle nose

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats a tiger shovel nose they get 4-5 feet long at least and grow very fast these fish are not for every one thye eat alot and need very large tanks or a pond

You may be able to get a pool for around $100 but filtration and water changes for it will cost ALOT more if you live in texas you could keep the pond out side but for people like me that live further up north keeping a pond out side isn't really an option it would cost thousands to keep a pond warm enough in NY or even around here in colorado so the pond would need to be kept in doors

What size tank do you have it in

Couple of things... 1) for the size of it... You prob over paid but I'm not sure what the market price is for them in Texas so take that with a grain of salt 2) To MKD500 I think your thinking of the RTC as it's a common myth that RTC's will reach 5'+ in captivity, although it CAN be done... just harder to do than people think and not ALL are able to get to those huge sizes. Kind of like all humans can reach a potential of 8'... it's happened but the reality is that it's rare and not possible for all of us. 3) Savoir19 I suggest you get doing some reasearch on your TSN and seriously consider if this is for you as the larger it gets the more difficult it will be to get rid of. The truth is that there really arn't all that many people with the ability to care for such a large fish nor are they really prepared for the work/Cost involved in doing so. I currently have 3 different people whom are trying to sell their TSN's which are all between 14-20" and have had no luck in doing so locally and are begging that I take them off of their hands because they simply can not afford/house them anymore. Although I don't mind taking a fish I really hate to see this happen and am working with them to try to find alternatives before I take them since my current stock list contains 5 ranging in size from 9"-2 1/2". These are a long term fish and it needs to be pointed out... I hope that your capable of keeping such a fish however I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't point out some of these points.

All the best in what ever you decide and nice looking cat ;)

thanx for allthat basslover i think i can handle him i make enough money to buy huge tanks i dont need them at the moment so im wating for a steal

it's not only about the money... there is a direct relationship between the size of the tank and the amount of work that it takes to take care of it.

I only mentioned the money as you mentioned that you would wait till your next cheque to get the $100 pool... figured it wasn't a consideration that you had taken into account... just my way of making you condiser it ;)
