are the blacks WC? or just line/selectively bred for that colot?
Not WC,they are lined out for the colors....been taking individuals with certain characteristics and culling the rest....then breeding (for example) only the fry that had high blue in the face...then from their fty pulling the high blue faced with say a bright yellow dorsal,,,and so on and so on...untill the point I am at now with 8 individuals producing the highly colored fry...those in the pic are an inch...just babies with the high color. the white/pinks I am working on gold and blue...the female(with the eggs) in the pic is a high blue pink con...but I have gotten a few with high gold sheen faces(in pics)...I will grow them and breed them to some pinks I have with the blue finnage....eventua;;y they will throw a fry with the gold and blue...thats what I am after with those. So thats about it in a short uncomplicated version....if you are familiar with line breeding species you can understand. There is no crossing..just culling and selection of particular characteristics for future breeding. always fun seeing what you get...and its a bread and butter species thats easy to breed...no loss and now that they produce the high color variants steady I have a buyer taking them for over 4x what a normal sell for...nothing you'll get rich over but it pays for the junk involved in the project so there is no loss all gain
