My silver arowana in 4500 gal

1.5ft arowana from Jonathan. Very strange behavior upon introduction. Belly crawling, imbalance, wall bumping. It must have been extremely stressed but I am not sure from what. The acclimation was rather average. Anyway, I talk abut it in the video:

Unexpected death without any prior indication. Probably self-inflicted blunt trauma to the head. This was the best growing arowana of the batch of May 2023 (got 12, survived 3 or 4, then got 5) at 2.5 yo it was almost 3 feet:

Thank you! Its a fiberglass tank 13'x13'x4.5' with an acrylic window made by Dolphin Fiberglass in Homestead, FL.

I looked into getting one of these tanks, a smaller one, half circle with a viewing window. Got a great deal on a used 1100 instead. Still wonder if I should have bought the larger tank?

My thought is that bigger is better
