i would recomend raising the temp to 82 and just wait it out he will give in. Also rying hikari aro sticks my aro wont stop eating them.
Cool, I was wondering if I should try the Arowana sticks by Hikari, I'll give it a try.

What about New Life Spectrum Jumbo or Extra Large Fish formula? My LFS clerk told me this is one of the best fish foods available, it's almost double the price of the food I'm feeding now.

My Silver has snapped at the Tetra Jumbo Sticks. He snapped the jumbo Stick so hard it just blew apart. He did manage to get some in his mouth.

I went out and got some Hikari food sticks. I bought the small package and the sticks seem a little small compared to the Tetra Jumbo Sticks.

Does the size of the food matter? My Aro is 10-12" long and his mouth is pretty big for a fish this size.

Richard

I found the solution to the problem, #1 My Silver hates Tetra Food Sticks and Cichlid Gold Pellets even the Large pellets. #2 He wants larger pieces of food.

He let me know today that he's not a wussy and wanted something he could chomp on. I was just fartin' around and thought I'll throw a big chunk of krill in the tank instead of the whimpy let wad this time. OMG his mouth is freakin' huge.:WHOA:
I tossed in a chunk that was a tad smaller than a 50 cent piece and about 3/16 to 1/4 thick and there was a mighty eruption at the surface of my tank, Holy $..T, it's gone!!! He chomped about 3 times and it was all down the hatch. I tossed in another slightly smaller chunk and BAMM! He slammed that down too.

I'm going to pick up some New Life Spectrum Extra Large Fish Formula tonight.:nilly:
I'll try to post some pictures soon.

Thank you for the help and suggestions,

get it fat on feeders just to make sure it's healthy
NEVER feed feeders EVER again. And I think you're wasting money buying all these pellets. Just get your aro healthy with krill, market shrimp, superworms, (note this list does NOT include feeders) and then starve it again until it takes hikari food sticks. Once they eat it once, they'll always eat it. Its better to acclimate your aro before you try pellets or you'd just be wasting money buying all these different types of pellets.

Yes, That's exactly what I'm doing. I didn't realize that he was being fed feeders at my LFS. That's why he wouldn't take the pellets/Food Sticks or any of the other food I mentioned.
I starved him and found what he wants now he's only gettin' the good stuff!
