I've kept many silver aros they have been with many other type of fish and i put fishes that grow about the same rate or faster than it like frontosas. I've had them in a tank with a silver never had problems and red tail catfish (got too big sold). You just gotta do some research on them and make sure they are not small enough to be swallowed. That parrot i have in there is growing at the same rate as the silvers i did have two but one starved itself..yes they do jump but if u have a lid of course but these guys are captive bred they dont really have the instinct as a wild one does. These silver arowanas have been pet raised for a while now i've never had any problems with any other type of fish messing with them no fin nipping and i've done things my way never really listened to anyones ideas or how they should be kept ok some stuff but most of i do it myself. I like to experiment with things i could be doing things different then others but hey if it comes out good then im alright. Theres many types of fish u can add just ones that cant get eaten remember these are top feeders most other fish are bottom so theres a pretty big space there and many possibilities to add different kind of fishes....

Thanks i really think you have a nice set up as long as everything is going smooth.. and your right to try different things ..in so many instances even the experts books are wrong.. all fish have unique and different personalities and i quess as long as we are good fish keepers we will be able to judge the different circumstances and whether it is right or wrong.. thanks for the tips..

PLJ is Protruding Lower Jaw where the lower jaw is loooonger than the upper jaw. another comon thing that is seen on silvers.

o ok i see umm i dont think it has that....never had that problem at all so thats why i didnt know what it meant...thanks for clearing things up...:)
