it still looks cool even in "a conjenital or calcium deficiency provoqued deformacion in its youth" i dont know what it means so i CP it. lol
There are 4 things in this world that are capable of doing that, I sited the 2 more likely;) The left 2 are ontogenic deformity (because turts hatch from eggs they are more exposed then mamals to envoiremetal condicions and to the egg itself, imagen that the egg was deformed, the embrio could develop unproperly but still hach) and a shell injury.
The other 2 would be a congenital deformity (genetic stuff like albinism and nanism) or a nutricion thing (turts need a ratio of 2 parts of calcium to 1 part of phosphorus in their diet as well as warmth and a sorce of vitamin D3 so that their shell and bones can develop properly, if something fails like too much phosphorus, that kind of stuff can happen)

Should it be bigger also?

Looks small for ten.

If there is ever a topic or sticky about pyramiding, let this guy be an example.

Glad you (hopefully) gave it a better diet and further prevented it from being dangerously deformed.

Metabolic bonne desiase not pyramidism;)

Hi,yes I think the reason is due to a genetic problem rather than a feeding defeciency, its true that it was fed meaty foods, but it was also fed with other pellet foods and others.

Coura, what shape is that turtles carapace forming?

So you mean there can be a similar condition NOT called pyramiding but be in the shape of a pyramid?:screwy:

I'm sure some MBD went along with it,as it's obvious it had a poor diet, but what shape is it's carapace forming?

This is pyramidism;) It only afects normal shelled turtles and tortoises and it can have diferent causes: too much protein, lack of calcium, lack of fiber(both turts and toises) and lack of humidity(tortoises only). What happens is that these factors cause the too much rapid growth of the keratinous layer of the animal shell (protein) wich deforms the shell alongside the the fact that the bonny part of the shell its fragile by the lack of calcium, making it easier to deform. Softshell turtles lack the keratinous layer making them "imune" to pyramidism, but they can get metabolic bonne desiase just like any reptile. The deformacion on the softy shell is a deformacin of the spinal cord, quite comon in MBD it just had a more peculiar look
