Very nice Florida gar but I'm not sure what your basis is for the growth of the animal. It is not accurate to what is known and documented. These fish grow fast but not that fast.

Maybe there is some lack of effective translation here but that fish is not two months old and it is not less than about 10 months..It is a very nice animal and a very nice and healthy one however it is not two months of age. Lovely fish and I wish you the best of luck with it.

i agree. very nice fish but its gotta be closer to the 6-8 month range.

I think daily water changes/steady diet will make a fish grow faster than power feeding/weekly water changes. I could be wrong, but most people keeping these fish don't manage water changes every day. I have had fish double the size of their siblings in a tank that received water changes every day as compared to twice a week. These fish received the same food and same amount of food every day.

i change my floridas water two to three times a week and i am not observing this. but maybe everyday is the key?

Please, please stop typing like that, because its hard to read "wEnn U tipE liK dis!@$#@" ok?

Also I highly doubt this fish is 2 months old. 3" to 10" in 2 months is highy, highly unlikey, if not physically immposible.

I'm not sure how florida gar grow, but I was just mentioning what I have seen with other fish. Just think, if you change your water 2-3x a week and he does every day, his fish is recieving 2-3.5x more fresh water than yours. I'm not trying to say 2-3 times a week is not good enough, just that every day does a fish good.

how big is that tank he is in?
