My Stendker Discus from Discus Hans

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So here they are in their new home. I posted these on my renovation thread as well. They look sooooo blue with the white substrate. Everyone is a bit skittish, but their eyes are bright red and their color is good so hopefully tomorrow they will be back to normal.

I've had them about two weeks and so far very impressed. They are currently in a 30 gallon quarantine tank but in a few weeks will be in my 75 gallon show tank. They eat like little pigs and try to pull the food right out of my fingers. They really like the freeze dried Austrailian Black Worms.

Looks good snoopy. Looks much cleaner without all the "weeds". :) You could probably add a few more discus to the group without problems. I've kept as many as 12 to 15 at a time in a 125 gal. No worries if you keep up with water changes. Get rid of those africans (hard to tell for sure from the pic) and you could add a lot more in the other tank! :D

Thanks! I decided to try and go with wood for the discus as from what I have read, that is pretty much what is natural for them. I have 3 2" Fire Reds growing out to add to the discus tank. The other 125 has Frontosa in it. I just picked up another 75 and 55 gal and quite possibly will be getting some yellow and/or white discus for those tanks. I tell you they are quite addictive.

Thanks Ark. Once all of our renovations are done, I will update this thread more regularly. Right now, life is too crazy and just keeping up with water changes is enough.

Congrats on your discus! It won't be long and you will want more and more!
